Spring 2018 HS Season
Brinley is a lean 6-foot-2, 180-pounds, with room to grow but he can certainly compete at his current stature. What makes Brinley effective is his ability to locate his fastball on the inner half and then elevate with 2 K’s. While he will utilize his fastball as much as he can, he also possesses a solid 12-6 curveball that generated some swings and misses. Picked up the win with 5 IP, allowing 1 run on 2 hits, 2 walks, and 7 punchouts. Although we did not have the radar gun at this game, Texas Scouting Director, Toby Bicknell, saw Brinley a week earlier and his fastball was 82-84. Curveball 63-66, Changeup 77-78.
