Positional Profile: OF/C Baskin is a good athlete who plays with confidence. Good arm that shows up behind the plate. Swings with intent, and shows some power. Has some polishing up to do, as he conistently will get power to all fields.
Body: 6-2, 198-pounds. Athletic frame with a solid lower half.
Hit: RHH. Wide slightly open stance, keeps his weight evenly distributed, with his hands constatntly rocking around his back shoulder. Creates good seperate with a small stride and quick hands that lead his barrel through the zone for a long time. Tends to cut himself off at times. 76.5 mph bat speed with 24 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 97 max exit velocity, averaged 86.0 mph. 342' max distance. Jake has solid pop to the pullside showing ability to put balls in the left center gap with ease.He may be able to use his length and leverage to drive the ball to both sides of the field if he can learn to clean up his bat path and relax up his hands a little bit.
Arm: RH. C-79 mph. OF-84 mph. Long arm path that needs work on release point consistency and quickness from the outfield. Behind the plate he stays on top of the ball and shows good carry. Arm plays better behind the plate.
