From the left side, he has a tall, athletic set-up with rhythm. Smooth, simple load, short stride, direct hand-path with short, top-hand punch to contact. Good barrel awareness, line drive approach with a repeatable hack. Took a nice round of batting practice with line drives through the middle of the field. At shortstop, Gilbert has quick feet with smooth actions, relaxed hands into a longer exchange throwing from a high-¾ arm stroke with accuracy across the diamond.
