On the infield, Tate has fundamental footwork, a longer exchange, and accurate arm across the diamond with a top velocity of 71 mph.

The right-handed hitter starts from a tall, narrow stance, then uses a two part toe-tap load as he triggers his hands down - then brings them back up as his front foot strides out, landing in a balanced launch position with good separation.
