At 6-foot-5, 190-pounds, there is still plenty of room for Calkins to add strength to a long, lean, projectable pitcher’s frame. Working from slightly above a ¾ slot the right-hander has a long, loose arm swing with a smooth, low-effort delivery. His fastball topped out at 89, sitting mostly 86-88, and he throws a power changeup at 82-83 with heavy action at the bottom of the zone. Mixes in a slurve at 72-75 with short, late break. This guy has a chance to be one of the biggest sleeper picks in the 2020 class and is a must see for college coaches.
