Powers has a strong, muscular frame with a well defined lower half at 6-foot-3, 215-pounds. The right-handed hitter starts from a tall, narrow, slightly open stance. Triggers his hands down as he tilts his shoulders forward and coils inward as he sits down into his stance, then strides forward. Slots the barrel in the zone early, working on a slightly uphill path, using his strong lower half to transfer through contact. Roped balls through the middle of the field during BP, hard contact, line drives with carry, and a top exit velocity of 85 mph. Behind the plate, Powers throws from a short, over the top arm slot with a relaxed gather that provided for accurate throws with pop times ranging from 2.17-2.19 and a top velocity from the crouch of 75 mph.

6-foot-3, 215-pound, RHH stood out for his size and playability of his arm strength.  Tall, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned present strength throughout, some physical projection.  Offensively, hits w/ a narrow, straight on, very slightly crouched stance w/ hand rhythm into shift of weight, knee to knee leg kick and occasional short hand load.  Generates bat speed through the zone.  Learning to keep lower half through the baseball, occasionally leaks slightly.  As he corrects this, shows the tools to be an all fields, line drive hitter w/ some pull power.  As a receiver, presents a quality low target w/ big, open glove.  Moves well behind the plate, tools to frame the baseball.  Shows ability to box the baseball, mobile.  As a thrower, features good footwork w/ quick release and carry to target arm strength.

Strong and muscular frame at 6-foot-3, 215-pounds. Powers showed power to both gaps in batting practice and pounded a 92 mph exit velo off the tee.  Powers hits from an athletic stance, has rhythm in his hands and body before and during the load and his smooth small leg kick, and has loose and quick hands with strength at the point of contact.  Powers has a smooth powerful load, and lifts his back foot to trigger his load, and to feel the weight on the inside of his back foot, stays behind the ball well with his body, and has barrel control through the zone with a smooth finish above shoulder-level with his hands.  The ball jumps off his bat with easy effort. From behind the plate, he has quick and powerful footwork in direction to second base, made accurate throws on the bag with pop times ranging from 2.08-2.22 seconds and 75 mph arm strength. He has quiet body and glove actions behind the plate and handled pitchers well both receiving and blocking.  He ran a 7.43 laser-timed 60. Powers has a high ceiling with the combination of his strength, ability to handle the bat, catch and throw, and his solid actions behind the dish.
