4/11/18 -5’11/195, Redshirt Sophomore. Athletic, fast-twitch frame. The two-sport athlete moves easy in the outfield and showed great range to get to balls in both gaps and straight away to dead centerfield. Opens his hips and can track balls with relative ease, played the wall really well a couple of times. Offensively, the right-handed hitter starts from a tall, slightly open stance with his hands in a relaxed position below his back shoulder. Simple reverse leg lift to load, smooth rhythm, loose hands, short leg kick, lands balanced. Quick strong hands with a short punch of the top hand. Does a nice job of generating leverage and bat speed without much effort. Strong contact during batting practice. Drove the ball well through the opposite gap with carry, ball jumps off his bat. Solid pitch recognition, hammered a curveball to left-centerfield for single in his first at-bat. Flew out to right field with a 6.57 hang time. Singled to left field, hit a towering pop up to centerfield and struck out looking. Would compare him to Andrew McCutcheon, at least that was the first thought I had when watching him.
