Stands 5-foot-10, 147-pounds, works from the far 1B side of the rubber with deliberate tempo, clean line down the mound and aggressive finish. Arm swing is fast and pulled up to wide ¾ slot. Hughes gets good extension on his front side, and controls gloveside well. Fastball was 77-79 mph with some sink. Spun slider at 67-68 with some bite and good depth. Changeup was 70 mph with nice fading action that mimiced the fastball well.
