Commanded the fastball low in the zone to both sides of the plate, flashing arm-side run inside to righties. Simmons committed to Furman shortly after this event. The right-hander has a strong, projectable, durable frame at 6-foot-3, 205-pounds. Simmons comes off the rubber with a repeatable delivery and quiet mechanics. He rocks his glove towards his waist before bringing the baseball back to his chest, where he subsequently breaks his hands with an athletic drive towards home plate. His high ¾ delivery is benefitted by an explosive top-half, producing a heavy 88-90 mph fastball with arm-side run. His 78-79 mph slider contains tight 11-5 shape, as the pitch was consistently thrown from the same window and equal effort from his fastball. He flashed a 79 mph changeup with fade and angle that could be harnessed as yet another secondary out-pitch.
