Cael Kidman, Ridgeline (UT), 2025
Positional Profile: OF/RHP A small town kid who shines at the plate and his mound work is now rounding into focus. The Ridgeline product shows an upper 80's EZ FB and loft power at the plate with considerable projection to both and now it's just a matter of one separating itself to magnify which way he will go at the next level. A high JC type talent at present, that needs a couple of years to let his vast toolbox to turn into in-game performance with better use of hos tool to turn into useable skills
Body: 6-3, 182-pounds. One of the better bodies at the event. A Prep Baseball staple attendee, featured long arms and legs with some muscular features to give promise for 6-3 200 at full maturity
Delivery: A tall high kick to delivery with a stretched out lower 1/2 in the power position at foot strike
Arm Action: RH. Clean HTQ arm that Biomechanist wise works properly and shows good ext out front
FB: T87, 84-87 mph. FB plays avg and must command and locate and stay ahead in counts T2210, 2153 average rpm.
CB: 74-74 mph. Late TQ tilt with proper velo spacing off the FB. Flashes shape and definition with depth and at times gets around the breaking ball and it flattens out. Raw to the mound and coming into his own T2131, 2087 average rpm.
SPLT: 78-80 mph.
ATH: 7.19 runner in the 60. Runs better than his 7.19 as he has run better in the past. Long legs with a gliding stride and runs the bases with a heads up mentality

An intriguing arm and bat, the Ridgeline product, had a strong 2024 as he was named one of our Utah Players of the Week this past spring. Kidman hit .365 with 6 HR’s as a junior and now that the pitching is coming into focus, it adds a layer of intrigue that a 90+ mph arm is in the making. With a 100 mph EV, coupled with a max distance of 379 which was 3rd at the event. But the arm on the mound is what took me by surprise. Kidman has a loose live arm that is raw and un-developed as he touched 89 to lead the event and gives indications of a 90-93 as when strength, weight and added strength take over. Kidman avg’ed 88 with the FB with a spin of 2,222 and a CH up, that sat at 77 with an absurd 1,011 kill of the spin rate. It will be interesting to see where the bat and arm take him over his senior year and where he starts to separate the arm or bat to make it to the next level, of which he should be on top JC coaches follow lists!

Stat Line: March 25-31 (Player of the Week) G 4 AB 10 R 6 H 6 HR 5 RBI 15 BB 4 (IBB 3 Times, reached base 10 times) 2024 Current Stats G 13 AB 30 R 10 H 13 AVG .433 HR 6 RBI 24 2B 1 3B BB 8 SO 9 SB 2 The junior Riverhawks OF'er, has made vast improvements since we last saw him at the Northern Utah Open, held at his home field of Ridgeline HS. A skinny 6-2 170, now 6-2 180 and noticeably stronger and filled out, yet has remained lean and has tapped into some quick twitch at the plate. A lower floor right now, with considerable ceiling to reach over the next year and half. The hands fly through the zone with whip and solid extension into a wristy two hand finish top the swing. With this kind of week, he has now tied a top prospect in the state for HR lead at 6. With 12 regular season games left, the numbers are putting himself in a solid position to put up a stat line to rank with the best.
