Heaton was a standout at the Preseason ID and earned his invite to the Preseason All-State event a month in March. A two way player with the unique profile of being a LHP, while hitting from the right side of the plate. Not many do this, which only a handful at the big league level in history as well. Still progressing in his game and shows some intriguing data, but working to put his athleticism and tools use in games. A JUCO caliber talent, that just needs to have things click for him. The hitting profile is the interesting part, as he showed 94.7 EV’s with hand and bat speeds of 22.5 and 74.4. The data is there, now it’s a matter of putting it to use with pitch selection and how pitchers are trying to work him. The athleticism is there and he’s still growing into his frame as a late bloomer could be in the works here.
