Another player that you can talk about in the “tools” over skills debate right now, as Mobley is built like an athlete w/uber twitchy movement patterns and looks the part in uniform. The hitting metrics jump out as he has top of the scale hand and bat speed marks of 26 and 81 mph, to go along with a 6.87/60 and he actually looks faster than that, as his running gate is in a straight line, while pumping his arms up and down, with his elbows in. A quality form runner, much like a track sprinter, and as he continues to add additional lower ½ strength and reaches his physical peak, he could pick up a tenth or two. Hitting .319 with 7 HR’s as a junior at scenic Park City HS, yes that Park City, home of the 2002 Winter Olympics. Keep an eye out for this kid, as he looks the part and with the right coaching, does need to get some of the crudeness out of his mannerisms at the plate, this kid could be a steal for someone.
