VA/DC Unsigned Senior Games

Labrusciano is 6-3 with a very lanky 165 pound frame that has a lot of projection left. He hits from the right side from a balanced athletic stance, two tap strides in place, short load back. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short to the ball, level line drive swing path with some strength at contact point and extension through the ball, showed a good approach working the middle of the field, extra base power present in the gaps with the chance to grow into more as he strengthens, exit velocity was 89. In the infield, rounds the ball and fields with a good wide base and soft hands, works through the ball with a quick clean exchange, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, long loose very quick arm action, position velocity was 87. Ran a 7.13 60 yard dash.

Labrusciano has a long thin frame and projection left. Have always thought that he is a high IQ player and Wednesday was just another example. Played three different infield positions and made what turned out to be a very important play at third base. Got a ground ball at him and the runner went on a down angle read with one out. Labrusciano made an accurate throw home to save the run in what at the time was a six run game, but they ended up winning by one. Did not produce much offensively on the night, as he got walked twice and grounded out once, but would lay down a drag in his fourth at bat and beat out the throw with a video confirmed 4.03 home to first. Labrusciano came on in the sixth to get NS out of a jam with a strikeout on a slider. He got the last four outs of the game, three of which were strikeouts. Filled up the zone with two pitches. The fastball sat 79-83, more 80-82, with arm side run. He threw the slider consistently for strikes and it had late depth at 70-73 mph.

VA/DC PreSeason All-State Central

Labrusciano is 6-3 with a lanky athletic 165 pound frame that has a lot of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open balanced athletic stance, two step stride on line, short load back. Hips rotate completely with violence and he maintains good lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing path with some strength at contact and extension through the ball, showed a good approach working gap to gap, line drive hitter with doubles power in the middle of the field and potential to add more as he fills out, exit velocity was 85. In the infield, quick feet, rounds ball and fields with a wider base and above average hands, works through the ball to a quick clean exchange, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, long loose very quick arm action, position velocity was 86. Ran a 7.29 60 yard dash. On the mound, he throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, long free quick arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Drop and drive delivery, shoulders are slightly uphill and closed, lands open with a slight fall off finish. Fastball was 79-81, with some downward angle and a bit of late armside run to it. Curveball was 69-70 with good armspeed and sharp 10/4 break to it. Change-up was 74-75 with good armspeed and hard late fade.

Richmond Braves Workout

Long athletic frame with projection left to it. Labrusciano was 78-80 mph on the mound with a fastball that worked to both sides of the plate and showed arm side run. The breaking ball flashed 11/5 shape sitting at 67-70 mph and feel for the zone. Sound defender on the left side of the infield with an accurate arm across. At the plate he is a tough out. Battles deep into counts and fouls pitches off. Contact driven swing that shows ability to use the whole field with a line drive approach. One of the biggest things that stands out about Labrusciano is the IQ. Is not afraid of getting deep into a count and turning the at bat into a team AB. Is a heads up baserunner with solid instincts all over the field.

Mid-Atlantic Summer Championship

Long projectable frame at 6-foot-2, 145-pounds with plenty of room to add strength. From the stretch Labrusciano flashed a quick repeatable leg lift with hands set low. Shoulders have slight uphill tilt working down the mound and lands slightly closed at foot strike. Hand break and arm swing have some deception and tends to hide the ball well through a short quick arm action and throws from a low three-quarter arm slot. Fastball was 77-78 mph with arm side run to both sides of the plate. Slider sat at 65-68 mph and looks to still be developing, but got better throughout the outing. Changeup was 70-71 mph with arm speed and intent.
