Astacio is 5-8 with an athletic 165 pound frame that has strength in the lower half and some projection left to it. He throws from a three-quarters arm slot, short free arm action and some effort to his delivery. Shoulders are uphill and on line, lands on line with a slight fall off finish and some recoil. Fastball was 73-76, with some downward angle and a late armside run that also has some depth. Curveball was 59-62 with some armspeed and big gradual 12/6 break to it. Change-up was 67-68 with good armspeed and a bit of late fade.

5-foot-7, 142-pound compact athletic frame. Small rhythmic rocker step, gathered over the rubber, and hips elevated and closed off at balance. Shoulders closed moving down the mound and lands on line at foot strike. Full arm action and throws from a high three-quarter arm slot. Fastball sat at 74-76 mph and flashed some arm side run at time. Breaking ball was inconsistent at times, but when on showed solid depth and a bigger 11/5 shape at 63-64 mph. Changeup has solid arm speed and intent with some late fade at 68-69 mph.

Adam Astacio C/RHP St. John’s College 2022
Compact athletic frame at 5-foot-7, 142-pounds. Slightly open athletic stance from the right side. Small toe tap stride landing square, hands make small load back, and is short to the ball. Maintained balance throughout and lower half finished completely. Pull side tendency with the swing and an exit velocity of 75 mph. On the mound starts with a small rocker step, repeatable leg lift, and a down and out stride landing closed. Low effort delivery that shows some rhythm and flow. Filled the strike zone up with the fastball and curveball. Fastball had some arm side run to it and got some early soft contact in games. Had a solid feel for an 11/5 breaking ball and was consistent around the zone with it. Had a bigger break, but got multiple swings and misses with it.
