2/22/2015:  Northington stands 6-foot-2 with an athletic frame. He has a smooth, tall and fall delivery and throws from an over-the-top slot. He has a short, free, arm action and a quick armstroke that generates easy velocity. His shoulders are uphill and he strides out on line before landing a bit open and coming to an athletic finish. Northington’s fastball sat 77 with slight sink and good downward plane. His curveball had gradual 12/6 break to it and ran 66-68. He also threw a fading change-up with decent armspeed that ran 65-71. Overall, his command was good and he worked down in the zone.  Hit from a tall and athletic stance that was slightly open.  Smooth load back with a stride that dives in slightly.  Good rhythm to his swing.  Does not keep his lower half engaged when he approaches the ball.  Short path to the ball with good extension.  Fast hands that had an Exit Velocity of 86 mph.  Stroke should produce plenty of line drives with potential to find gaps.  In the field, he threw from a high ¾ arm slot.  His arm displayed some accuracy and hand a Positional Velocity of 76 mph.  Had average hands.  Clean footwork.  Fielding mechanics were stiff.  Exchanges were clean.

11/9/2014:  Northington stands 6-foot-2 and has an athletic frame. He throws over the top and has a short arm action. His delivery is smooth and he strides out on line before landing closed. Northington’s fastball sat 73-75, touching 77 without much movement. He threw a 12/6 curveball with gradual breaking action to it that came in at 62-65. He showed good command of both pitches.  Positionally was third baseman that hit from an athletic/balanced stance. Short quick load, shift of weight to the backside was evident, short stride that maintained balance, short, line drive stroke.  Really good hands. Gap-to-gap approach. Can utilize the entire field. Had an exit velocity of 86 mph off of the tee.  In the field, Northington had average feet and soft hands. Moved better to his glove side.  Had a good actions and presence. Moved instinctually at the position.
