3.26.15:  Baine has an athletic frame and has good actions and a solid arm at shortstop. At the plate he has a very disciplined approach and knows the strike zone well, working two walks and being patient. In the one at bat that Baine did hack in, he hit a double over the centerfielder’s head. He casts his hands a bit as he swings, but his hands are quick and he generates enough bat speed for his swing to work and he hits with gap power.

2.22.15 Hit from a balanced athletic stance that was slightly open.  Smooth load back with a short leg kick stride that stayed on line.  Maintained fluid rhythm and balance throughout his swing.  Hands were quick with a swing path that stayed level through the zone and had good extension. Had elite level bat speed with an Exit Velocity of 93 mph. Should be a solid gap power hitter.  In the field, he threw from a loose, high ¾ arm slot.  Throws were accurate and had carry.  Had a Positional Velocity of 81 mph.  He showed soft hands and quick exchanges with fluid footwork that played through the ball.
