Maitland is 5-9 with an athletic frame and a strong lower half. He hits from the right side from an open athletic stance, short stride on line, short back, hips rotate completely, has some balance during his swing. Short to contact, strength at contact point, uphill path, showed pull approach with some loft, ball will carry that way off his bat, exit velocity was 82. In the infield, clean feet, rounds ball and fields with a wider base and above average hands. Plays through ball to a quick clean exchange, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, free arm action, position velocity was 75. On the mound, he throws from a higher three-quarters arm slot with long free arm action and some effort to his delivery. Shoulders are on line and uphill, lands on line, athletic finish. Fastball was 70-75 with some late life to it. Curveball was 63-66 with good armspeed and sharp 12/6 break.
