Simmons is 5-9 with a lanky athletic 142 pound frame that has a lot of projection left to it. He throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, longer free quick arm action and some effort to his delivery. Drop and drive delivery, shoulders are slightly uphill and closed, lands closed with an athletic finish and some recoil. Fastball was 77-80, touching 81, with late heavy armside run to it that has a bit of depth. Curveball was 65-69 with good armspeed and sharp 11/5 break to it. Change-up was 75-76 with good armspeed and some late fade to it.
