Benson is 5-10 with a lankier athletic frame that has plenty of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from an open balanced athletic stance, strides on line, smooth load back to a wrap. Hips rotate with some violence and he maintains good lower half balance. Hands stay inside, goes straight to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing with some strength at contact point, showed a good approach working gap to gap with some gap power present and more coming in the future, exit velocity was 84. Behind the plate, clean exchange, throws from a three-quarters arm slot, short free arm action, position velocity was 67 and pop times 2.22-2.34. Receiving, he gets low with a wider base and works up to the ball, showed some sway receiving. Showed versatility working out in the infield as well. Ran a 4.56 home to first. On the mound, he throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, longer free arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Drop and drive delivery, shoulders are uphill and closed, lands on line with an athletic finish. Fastball was 66-70, with some late sink to it. Curveball was 60-63 with good armspeed and gradual 11/5 break to it, showing some shape.
