McGuire is 6-0 with an athletic 195 pound frame that has some strength in the lower half and some projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a wide balanced athletic stance, strides in place, loads back to a slight wrap. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains good lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing path with a lot of strength at contact and extension through the ball, showed a good approach working primarily gap to gap, extra base power present to all fields and generates some more loft and carry to his pull side, exit velocity was 89. In the infield, gets body behind ball and fields with a wider base and average hands, works through the ball to a quick clean exchange, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, short arm action, position velocity was 79. Ran a 7.66 60 yard dash. On the mound, he throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, short free quick arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Drop and drive delivery, shoulders are uphill and slightly closed, lands closed with an athletic finish. Fastball was 81-83, with downward angle and some late hard armside run that also has depth to it. Curveball was 65-69 with good armspeed and sharp 11/5 break to it. Change-up was 72-75 with some armspeed and late fade. Slider was 68-72 with good armspeed and late sharp 10/4 break. Splitter was 76-77 with good armspeed and some late dive that also moves to armside.
