Phillips is 6-0 with a strong athletic frame that has some projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a balanced athletic stance, short stride on line, smooth load back. Hips rotate and he maintains some lower half balance. Keeps hands inside, quick to the ball, slightly uphill swing path, very strong at contact with good extension through the ball, power is present, exit velocity was 92. Behind the plate, quiet hands receiving, clean exchange, throws from a high three-quarters slot with a short arm action, velocity was 77 and pops were 2.05-2.09. Showed versatility taking balls in the infield where his velocity was 79.
