6.2.15:  Callahan had a good day, going to 2-3 and hitting the ball hard in all three of his at-bats. He did a good job of picking out fastballs and was also aggressive, jumping on the first pitch he could handle in each at bat. Callahan’s stance is open with his hands at his shoulder, he has a quick stroke that generates good bat speed and gap power to all fields. In the field, Callahan has good hands and lateral range that is supplemented by very good footwork. He also has a good arm that is very accurate.

2.22.15 Hit from an open stance that was athletic/balanced.  Smooth load back with a slight arm bar.  Had a short leg kick stride.  Swing had fluid rhythm to it.  Lower half was explosive and maintained balance throughout his swing.  Bat speed was explosive and had a good approach to the round.  Elite level bat speed with an Exit Velocity of 90 mph.  Swing path was short and had good extension. Should be a good line drive hitter with power to the gaps.  In the field, he threw from a loose high ¾ arm slot.  Throw showed life and accuracy.  He had a Positional Velocity of 85 mph.  His hands were soft with quick, clean exchanges.  His fluid footwork allowed him to play through the ball.

Fall Top Prospect Games (UVA):  Callahan is 6-foot-1, 175 pound, and hits from a in athletic balanced stance.  Starts with high hands, smooth load back, quiet rhythm, stays back behind the baseball. Short stride and explosive lower half. Has strong hands with outstanding bat speed. Recorded and exit velocity of 88 mph off of the tee. In the field, Callahan is athletic and a plus defender at SS.  Has soft hands, quick feet, and above-average arm with an 85 mph position velocity. Had clean exchanges that were quick and accurate. Has the ability to range left/right and utilize arm strength to make plays.
