VA/DC State Games

Craytor is 6-4 with a lankier athletic frame that has plenty of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open balanced athletic stance, short leg kick stride on line, short load back. Hips rotate completely and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, goes straight to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing path, long levers and some strength at contact, showed a pull approach with some power present that way, exit velocity was 88. In the outfield, gets body behind the ball and fields it with above average hands, clean exchange, throws from a three-quarters arm slot, short quick arm action, position velocity was 87. On the mound, he throws from a higher three-quarters arm slot, short free arm action and normal effort to his delivery. Shoulders are uphill and closed, lands slightly closed with a slight fall off finish and some occasional recoil. Fastball was 79-81, with some sink and a bit of late run. Curveball had some armspeed and was 63-66 with sharp 11/5 break to it, showed some swing and miss down. Change-up was 69-70 with good armspeed and some sink to it.

Preseason All-State II

Ultra projectable athletic frame at 6-foot-4, 180-pounds with room to add strength. At the plate he starts slightly closed in an upright stance. Small step to stride landing closed. Hands are loose and in rhythm before a short quick level path swing to contact. Barrel displays some bat speed through the zone. Swing flashes pull side power potential and a 86 mph exit velocity. In the outfield Craytor was under control on approach, glove worked outside the body when in line with the catch, and had a full arm circle throwing from a three-quarter arm slot with high end arm strength and a positional velocity of 89 mph. Home-1st time was 4.56. On the mound he works primarily out of the stretch, normal effort delivery, small leg lift and stride down the mound landing on line. Hands break high to a short arm action from a three-quarter arm slot. Fastball sits 83-84 mph and tends to work to the arm side with run. Curveball sat 63-64 mph and has 11/5 shape with feel for the zone and two-plane break. Changeup has average arm speed sitting at 70-71 mph with some arm side fade. Slide sat 68-72 mph. Is an interesting two-way prospect with some loud tools and a projectable frame.
