Michel looks to have gotten a bit taller and added to his frame during the offseason. Still lanky with plenty of projection in his frame. Fastball was consistent 83-85, touched 86, higher armslot created steep downward plane on his pitches, late armside life to his fastball as well. Curveball was 69-72 with some sharpness. Looked good for first live outing of the spring. Was consistently around the zone.
11.5.17: Michel is 6-3 with a lanky projectable frame, throws from a higher three-quarters arm slot with a short loose arm action that is very quick, throws with some effort. Shoulders are uphill and on line, lands slightly closed with an athletic finish and recoil. Fastball was 85-87 with good downward angle and late sink to it. Curveball was 70-74 with sharp hard 11/5 break and was thrown with good armspeed, swing and miss pitch. Changeup was 79-81 with heavy fade and good armspeed. Showed ability to command all three pitches in the strike zone.
9.15.17: Michel has a lanky projectable frame. Throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with a shorter, loose arm action and easy effort. Shoulders are level and closed. Fastball was 83-84, touching 86 with good downward plane and hard late run early. Fastball tailed off in fourth inning to 80-82. Curveball had sharp 11/5 break and some armspeed, running 68-70.
