4.11.16: Coritz is an athletic defender and showed good lateral range as well as awareness during the game. He has soft hands and a clean release to go with an above average arm. On the mound, Coritz has a drop and drive delivery and an over the top slot with a quick arm that generates velocity with some effort. His fastball sat 82-83 with some cut action. He threw a 12/6 sharp curveball that ran 69-71.
11/9/2014: Coritz is 5-foot-9 and has an athletic frame. He throws from a high three-quarters slot and has a shorter arm action due to a wrist wrap. His mechanics are smooth and he strides on line to home plate before landing a bit closed. Coritz’s fastball sat 80-82, touching 83 with slight cutting action to it that he commanded well. He also threw a 12/6 curveball with a more gradual break to it that ran 66-69 that was up in the zone most of the day. Coritz’s change-up came in at 69 and had arm side run to it.
Coritz is a 5-foot-9, 165-pound, third baseman that hit from a slightly wider stance with balance. Coritz had a very quiet rhythm, small load back, and a short stride to the baseball. All movements in the swing were smooth. Line drive stroke, ability to use the entire field, short path to the ball, has leverage and creates backspin. Had an exit velocity of 78 mph off of the tee. In the field, Coritz had great actions and soft hands. Great instincts, good angles to the ball, first step quickness, good lateral movement. Has the ability to be a plus defender at the position. Can make all of the plays.
