9.29.16 - UNC commit. Longer uphill swing path looking to elevate the baseball. Created quick bat speed and kept hands in good position throughout swing. Short quick arm action from the infield. Good carry on throws across the diamond. Ran a 6.69 60-yard dash.

3.16.16:  Schroeder has a projectable, athletic 6-0 frame. On the mound, he throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a smooth drop and drive delivery. He has a short, loose arm action that is quick and generates velocity with some effort. His shoulders are closed and slightly downhill as he strides out to a square landing and finishing athletically with a recoil. Schroeder’s fastball sat 79-83 in the outing, touching 84 in the first inning. He had some plane and late run to it. He threw a fading change-up that ran 67-70. His 12/6 curveball had gradual break and was 62-66. He also dropped down to throw a sweeping slider that was 67-71. Schroeder slowed his arm a bit on all of his offspeed pitches early, but sped them up a bit as the game went on. He struggled to find a tight strike zone in the first inning, but battled through it without losing his composure before settling in. He has a very good mound presence and can field his position. At the plate, Schroeder hits from the right side from an athletic stance. He has a leg kick stride and a smooth load back into a slight arm bar. He has an explosive lower half and maintains balance throughout his swing. He has very fast hands and good bat speed with a short path to the ball and good extension through it. He showed a good approach, hitting the ball where it was thrown and using the middle of the field in the game. He has gap power with the potential for much more as he develops. He has good athleticism and decent speed, running a 4.43 from the right side.

1.18.16: Schroeder has a projectable 6-0 frame and throws from a lower three-quarters arm slot. He has a long, very loose arm action that generates easy velocity. Schroeder’s fastball was 80-82 with good late life. His overhand breaking ball had 12/6 action and his slider had good armspeed and bite with 10/4 action.
