Evangel commit. Currently ranked No. 153 in the state. Lean 6-foot, 190-pound frame. Batted leadoff and played centerfield for Pewaukee. A right-handed hitter, he showed a very patient and mature approach at the plate - working quality at-bats seemingly every time up to bat. He showed minimal chase and the ability to not expand the zone and take his walks. He showed strong hands and a direct path in his first at-bat where he laced a line-drive single into left field. He additionally showed to be a reliable defender in centerfield, and should be able to stick there at the next level.

The Evangel University commit finished last week 7-for-9 with three walks, HBP, two doubles, seven RBIs, and four stolen bases. A quality week out of the three hole for the Pirates.

Standing at an athletic 5-foot-11, 175-pound frame, Dobberstein got off to a hot start from the leadoff spot for GRB Stiks Hybrid, going 2-for-3 with a double in the first game of the weekend. Presents a quick swing from the right side of the plate, displaying a natural feel for the barrel, which includes pull-side strength. Dobberstein’s performance reflects his success during the high school season for a Pewaukee team that made numerous appearances in the WIAA Power 25.

Built at a lanky 5-foot-10, 155 pounds, Dobberstein utilized his long levers to reach an 82 mph high with his fastball, all while featuring hard sinking action, and not just for his age. Though still developing a complete feel for his longer levers on the mound, Dobberstein’s breaking ball did flash intrigue. He spun the slurve-type offering at 70-72 mph while averaging 13 inches of horizontal break through the zone. Consider Dobberstein one of the top freshman arms we’ve seen to date this winter.
