Dessart showcased himself as a legitimate two-way prospect at the event on Saturday. Dessart stands 6-foot-1, 170-pounds with more fill and strength coming to his athletic frame. He hits with a solid base and slight crouch set up with relaxed hands and gets himself into a strong hitting position consistently on time. He has a short compact flat bat path which allowed him to backspin line drives to both gaps. He registered the third-highest EV of the day at 95.3 mph and drove a ball 319 feet in the air. He also showcased a strong throwing arm during the defensive portion of the event topping out at 89 mph and this arm strength transferred over to the mound nicely. Dessart shined brightly during his ‘pen, with an athletic and repeatable delivery. He showed a consistent ability to drive the fastball through spots topping out at 85.5 mph and showcased a couple of legitimate secondary weapons with his sharp breaking slider and curveball. He’s also gaining feel for a change up which gives him a four-pitch mix to allow him to profile as a starting pitcher. While we did expect a lot from Dessart, his performance in Kenosha he may have even exceeded our expectations and is certainly someone to follow as he continues his prep career.

Dessart is another prospect with some two-way potential who is also making their rankings debut. On the mound, the 6-foot, 160-pound prospect throws a downhill fastball up to 84 mph and pairs it with a 11/5 breaking ball that occasionally flashes more horizontal break. Although we haven’t seen him in a showcase setting in quite some time now, we have seen Dessart tally multiple barrels across a couple of looks this summer.
