"Another member of the state who committed to Illinois-Chicago later in the year, like the aforementioned Karst. Gohlke was among the state’s most productive prospects across the last calendar year, turning heads during the WIAA season with the Vikings, which translated into the summer. A 6-foot-1, 190-pound southpaw, Gohlke really turned the corner on the mound, pumping his fastball up to 89 mph, sitting in the mid-to-upper-80s, with real feel for a sweeping slider. He impressed our LakePoint staff at the 17U National Championships and struck out eight straight batters at The Rock this summer, too. His continued upward projection culminated in a commitment to UIC and a rightful rise up our rankings."

6-foot-1, 190-pound left-handed pitcher, lean athletic frame. Arm plays out of a loose high ¾ window. REpeatable uptempo delivery. Fastball sat 80-82 with slight arm side run. Curveball played 67-68 mph. Pitched predominantly off of the fastball all game. Put together a strong start on Friday night; 5.1 innings, 10 strikeouts, and he allowed just one earned run on two hits and two walks. An interesting ranked prospect in the state’s ‘22 class.

Hit: LHH. Slightly closed setup, hands start up by the ear, compact load, leg lift timing trigger.  Strong hands, present bat speed, stays short and level through the baseball. Works back up the middle, knack for the barrel, line drive approach.
Power: 84 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Arm: LH. OF - 83 mph. Long arm action, high 3/4 slot.
Defense: Takes consistent routes that work around the baseball, feet play in rhythm at times, windup to release.
Run: 7.93 runner in the 60.

Delivery: Stretch only, tall/fall type delivery, quick hitch in the lead leg, open front side. Out front at footstrike, upright posture through release.
Arm Action: LH. Compact arm action, 3/4 slot.
FB: T80, 76-80 mph. Four-seam type. Flashed arm-side action from a lower release angle.
CB: 65-65 mph. 1/7 shape.
