Adkins is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound SS/OF from Independence HS. He is a two time 1st Team All-State selection. He hit .504 with 17 stolen bases and 35 RBI as a sophomore in 2012. He followed that up by hitting .441 with 36 RBI, 44 runs scored and 17 stolen bases in 2013.
