Fall means Football in the south, but we still get out and see as much baseball as possible. The fall scout blog will be updated on a weekly basis and will be released every Friday.
2018 LHP Evan Hiatt Catholic HS
Hiatt is a 6-foot-3 190-pound left-hander with a large frame and an average build. He threw from a H ¾ arm slot with a clean quick arm. He used a repeatable delivery with a distinct balance point. He has an athletic finish toward home plate. He located his fastball 83-86 mph with slight sink on both sides of the plate. He showed advanced feel for his 1/7 curveball thrown 76 mph. He has the ability to locate his curveball for strikes and as a chase pitch depending on counts. Overall Hiatt continues to show advanced pitch-ability and an improving build. ( Arkansas Commit)
2017 RHP Noah Fowler Catholic HS
Fowler is 6-foot 195-pounds with a large frame and an average build. His fastball worked 79-82 mph, his curveball was 69-72 mph and his changeup was thrown 71-73 mph. He showed the ability to locate all three pitches for strikes. The curveball had 11/5 shape with early break. The change up was thrown with fastball arm speed and has arm side run. He pitched from a H ¾ arm slot with average arm speed. He repeated his simple delivery. Overall Fowler has advanced pitch-ability.
2018 LHP Hank Hannah Catholic HS
Hannah is a 6-foot 160 pound left-hander with an athletic frame and thin build. He pitches from a H ¾ arm slot with a quick arm. He repeats his delivery and uses a fast rhythm. At times he cuts himself off with his stride. He uses an athletic finish to the first base side. His fastball worked 82-85 mph with slight run. He also showed a cutter with late action 76-77 mph. He threw his curveball 66-68 mph with 1/7 shape and early break. Overall Hannah is a good athlete with a quick arm and a feel for two secondary pitches.
2018 RHP Tucker Sparks North Little Rock HS
Sparks is a 6-foot-2 180-pound right-hander with a large frame and an athletic build. His fastball worked 76-78 mph up to 81 mph, with slight run. He also threw a change up and curveball for strikes. The change up was thrown with fastball arm speed at 69 mph. The curveball was thrown 69-70 mph with 11/5 shape and early break. Mechanically he pitched from a ¾ arm slot with some stiffness in his arm action. He did not display a distinct balance point with a tall finish. Overall Sparks is a large frame athlete with a feel to pitch, with some projection.
2017 MIF Zac Freeman, North Little Rock HS
Freeman is a 5-foot-11 155-pound middle infielder with an athletic frame and thin build. He played through the baseball with fluid footwork and quick exchange. He threw the ball accurately across the infield from a L ¾ arm slot. Offensively he started from a slight open stance diving back into the plate. He showed a line drive swing with quick bat speed. Overall Freeman is an advanced defender with above average athleticism.
2017 MIF Cameron Tissue, Catholic HS
Tissue is a 6-foot 180-pound middle infielder with an athletic frame and build. He showed compact a line drive swing with fast bat speed. He started with an athletic stance and maintained balanced through contact. Defensively he played through the baseball with normal footwork. He uses a normal exchange, and throws from a ¾ arm slot with an accurate arm. Overall Tissue is an advanced hitter with solid defensive tools. ( Central Arkansas Commit)
