As the summer winds down, recruiting will heat up from now through November. Each we will run a recruiting round up until Friday November 3rd. As the early signing period begins Wednesday November 8th. Please keep us in the loop on all commitments and recruiting activity.
Weekly Rundown
On Wednesday of this week the No.2 player in the 2020 class pledged his commitment to the University of Arkansas. RHP Tyler Caccitorri is a 6-foot-4 right-hander from Sheridan. He pitches from a Low ¾ arm slot with a fastball which works 82-84 mph with late heavy sink. His slider is advanced and he has an above average feel for his changeup. Caccitorri is a projectable prospect, that looks to be another solid in state commitment for the Razorbacks.
On Thursday, 2018 RHP/INF/C Nick Fakouri from Sylvan Hills committed to Ouachita Baptist University. Fakouri is a versatile player with advanced strength and bat speed as an offensive player and on the mound, flashes a fastball that works into the upper 80’s. It will be interesting to see how the Tigers use Fakouri as some scouts, would grade with advanced arm strength behind the plate, but his big arm could be more beneficial on the mound as he has been one of the anchors to a Sylvan Hills pitching staff that has led to a state final appearance and a quarter final appearance in 2017. He is ranked 27th in the 2018 class rankings.
On Deck
2018; There will be a bevy of players start coming off the board, as players a narrowing their choices, and receiving offers, as the pool of colleges recruiting their class has expanded greatly over the last 3 months. Some names that are gaining some buzz are 2018 OF/RHP PJ Hilson Nettleton HS who had a strong showing at East Coast Pro, 2018 RHP/CIF Will Richardson Woodlawn HS who had a strong showing this summer for Sticks Baseball, turning heads as an advanced hitter and continues to be solid on the mound. 2018 RHP Landon Brown Shiloh Christian HS, is a name to watch; starting to show advanced arm strength again late in summer; returning to form after an intense state tournament run for the Saints.
2019; This class will see a little movement over the next month before, more scouts begin to turn their full attention to this class in the spring and summer of 2018. I look for 2019 MIF Peyton Holt Greenwood HS , to be one of the first names off the boards, as he has received multiple NCAA Division I offers this summer. 2019 RHP Landon McAllister, Har-Ber HS is name that is heating up. He has shown a mid to upper 80’s fastball and a feel for his slider, I expect some offers to be put in front of him shortly. 2019 RHP Zane Ryne Neves Jonesboro HS, picked up another offer last week, so the possibility of him coming off the recruiting board may be getting closer to a reality.
2020; With Caccitorri coming off the board that gives the 2020 class 3 commitments, matching the number of commits in the 2019 class. I expect 2020 CIF/RHP Cayden Wallace and 2020 CIF/RHP G Allen to be the next two commits out of this class. Both are physically advanced players and have had strong showings against the top competition from across the country this summer. Look for recruiting to level a bit after those two make their commitments.
