North Vancouver Future Games Trials: Quick Hits

On Friday, June 2nd, PBR BC hosted its first Future Games Trials of the year in North Vancouver at Parkgate Park. The event featured nearly 40 players from the 2025 and 2026 classes looking for a spot on this summer's Future Games team that will be playing at LakePoint Sports in Emerson, Georgia in front of 300+ Division I coaches.

All players at the North Vancouver Future Games Trials ran through a pro-style workout which included a 60-yard dash, defensive evaluation and velocities from all positions, as well as batting practice for hitters and bullpens for the arms while recording exit velocities and pitch velocities.

NORTH VANCOUVER FUTURE GAMES TRIALS: QUICK HITS

Shane Brinham LHP / OF / Handsworth, BC / 2025

Brinham was a standout on the mound in North Vancouver at the Future Game Trials. His Fastball got up to 86 mph while sitting 85-86 throughout the entire bullpen. Has a quick, short arm that deceives hitters as it gets on them quickly. His slider works well off his fastball as it has late action with both sweep and depth at 70-71 mph, which can create plenty of swing & miss. The changeup is a developing third offering but has the potential to be effective as it possesses fading action when located down in the zone. Brinham also showed well at the dish having one the loader rounds on the day finishing with a max exit velocity of 89 mph.

Kian Eliades LHP / 1B / Walnut Grove Secondary , BC / 2025

Another LHP that had a good day on the mound was 2025 Kian Eliadas. Was in the zone the entire bullpen with all 3 offerings. A long, loose arm out of a ¾ slot leads to an easy and repeatable delivery. The fastball has arm side run and sat 78-79 mph, topping out at 80 mph. His curveball has an effective 11-5 shape with depth on it that will create plenty of swing & miss in-game. The changeup has late fade when located down in the zone that pairs well with the fastball as it has a similar shape but effective difference in velocity, coming in at 70-72 mph.

Evan Dugdale RHP / OF / Meadow Ridge, BC / 2025

Dugdale was the best all around performer of the day, displaying
talent on both sides of the ball. On the mound he flashed 3 pitches with good movement for strikes. Dugdale had his fastball sitting 85-87 throughout his bullpen, while also breaking a curveball down near the bottom of the zone at 67-72 before showing off his changeup at 74-75. Defensively Dugdale looked smooth in the outfield working around and through the ball cleanly before again showing off his strong arm with a max velocity of 90. Offensively Dugdale put his pull side power on display, consistently driving the ball deep to left field at up to 92 MPH. Dugdale is one of the top 25’ players in the province, look for him to add to his numbers and he grows and continues his strong 2023 campaign.

Xander Guedes 3B / RHP / Seycove Secondary, BC / 2025

Guedes is a complete player, getting it done on on the mound and offensively. Guedes started the day with a strong showing on the mound with FB, CH, SL mix. Guedes had his FB sitting 83-85 and got it up to 86. Guedes showed off a solid off speed with his CH at 74-78 with arm side run, before throwing a tight SL which sits 73-76. Offensively, Guedes swing a strong bat finding barrel throughout his round. Guedes uses the pull side often with intent, getting ball to come off the bat at 84 consistently. Guedes is a large bodied 2025 grad with potential to keep eyes on.

Timothy Piasentin SS / RHP / Dr. Charles Best, BC / 2025

Piasentin is one of BC’s top 2025 prospects. Standing at 6-foot-3
190-pounds, Piasentin used all of that frame to his advantage at the 2023 Future Games Trials in North Vancouver. On the mound Piasentin delivered fastballs that sat at 84-85 MPH and topped out at 86 MPH Piasentin also flashed a solid curveball at 69-72 MPH, while his change up ranged between 76-78 MPH. Offensively, Piasentin displayed a smooth and aggressive swing with a strong ability to drive the ball to all fields. Piasentin exhibited plus power to the pull side which was supported by a top exit velocity of 88 MPH. From a defensive perspective Piasentin showed good rhythm and range on the infield. Along with these clean actions his arm strength was shown by reaching 83 MPH across the diamond. His athleticism was also demonstrated in his 6.8 second 60 yard dash. A true two-way player at the top of the 2025 grad class.
