Defending champion Resurrection Christian returns to defend its baseball title in the Class 2A Final Four, set to be played Saturday at Pueblo's Runyon Sports Complex.

The Cougars (17-4) knocked off South Park 21-0 and Paonia 11-2 in the regionals on Saturday to claim one of the semifinal spots.

Also on Saturday, Burlington (11-9), the No. 14 seed, burst into the semifinals by upsetting No. 3 seed Sedgwick County 6-3 and topped Limon 9-6 in the championship game. Sedgwick lost in the 2014 championship game to Resurrection Christian.

Rye (23-0) and Hotchkiss (21-2) won two games apiece on Friday in regional play to reach the semifinals.

The Thunderbolts received a perfect game from senior Luis Ortiz (Lamar Community College commit) to defeat Sanford 10-0 and senior Trent Hughes (Northeastern Junior College) followed suit with a no-hitter in a 2-0 victory over County Line.

Ortiz struck out 11 and needed only 52 pitches (44 strikes) to record his perfect game.

Hughes struck out 10, walked three and hit three batters to earn his seventh win of the season without a loss.

Hotchkiss slipped past Haxtun 3-0 and whipped Center 13-0 to reach the semifinals.

Rye, making its fifth consecutive appearance in the semifinals, enters the Final Four as the No. 1 seed, Resurrection is No. 2, Hotchkiss No. 4 and Burlington No. 14.

Rye meets Hotchkiss at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hobbs Field at the Runyon Sports Complex, while Resurrection Christian takes on Burlington at 10 a.m. at Andenucio Field. The winners play at 1 p.m. for the state title.
