Top Infield Arm Velocities Uncommitted 2018's
Blake Mackintosh SS / RHP / Cherokee Trail, CO / 2018Rankings State Rank:29 POS:4
Infield Arm Velocity: 85 5-foot-11, 160 pounds. Bats and throws right. Tall, wider base in stance. Bat stays in hitting zone through contact. Bottom hand finish. Showed gap to gap power in live round. Line drive hitter. 85 mph exit velo off the tee. Has a strong arm for SS. Light on his feet, good range, and gains good ground throwing to 1B. Looks natural. Was 85 mph across diamond at this event but we have had as high as 87 mph. On the mound has moxy and composure. Arm slot is short on back side, then comes from high 3/4 arm slot. Pitches primarily from stretch. Fastball sat 82-83, have had at 85 spring games. Good down angle on ball. Curveball lived 67-69 mph with 11/5 shape. Ran a 7.5 60 time.

Dylon Stricklett 3B / RHP / Brighton, CO / 2018Infield Arm Velocity: 83 5-foot-10, 165-pound right hand hitting 3B/RHP who ran a 7.13 60. At the plate he stands balanced and open with a slow load and long stride on the pitch. He shows quick hands that whip the bat through the zone. He uses a strong lower leg drive to transfer his weight on the swing and to produce a 94 MPH exit velocity. In the field he shows good range and instincts around the bag. He sis smooth to the back hand side. He has a quick transfer from the glove to hand and his arm was 83 MPH across the diamond.

Jake Haze SS / 3B / ThunderRidge, CO / 2018Rankings State Rank:17 POS:1
Infield Arm Velocity: 83 5-foot-9, 170 pounds. Switch hitter who throws left. We really like how Haze repeats his swing from both sides of the plate. Line drive hitter to both sides of field. Exit velo was the same from both sides at 89 mph, and how his swing repeats itself from both sides of the plate. Gap to gap power. Haze is a versatile infielder who look like he could handle SS, 3B, and 2B if called upon. Strong enough arm at 83 mph. Can help a team in a lot of ways with versatility. Ran a 4.24 home to first time.

Nick Merone 2B / SS / Rock Canyon, CO / 2018Rankings State Rank:9 POS:1
Infield Arm Velocity: 82 5-foot-11, 175 mounds. Bats and throws right. Balanced stance at plate, body and hands load back together with some rhythm, leg kick stride. Good bat speed in zone with slightly uphill swing. Wants to dive out at ball. Produced an 87 mph exit velocity off the tee but played faster in live round. At SS shows quick feet and hands. Good actions. Gains ground on throws to 2B. Arm is quick out of glove from different angles depending on location in infield. Threw 82 mph across the diamond. Ran a 4.13 home to first. Solid prospect.

Reese Lansville RHP / 3B / ThunderRidge, CO / 2018Rankings State Rank:59 POS:20
Infield Arm Velocity: 80 5-foot-11, 170 pounds. Modified stretch windup. Torque in hips, short on backside and comes from 3/4 arm slot. Hides ball well. Lands inline then spins towards 1B. Fastball lives 83-84. Can touch 85. Arm is quick. Off speed pitches thrown at same arm speed as fastball. Slider is fast. Lives at 78 mph. Has some late depth. At the plate has an open stance, leg kick stride. Good lower half rotation. Swing is level through the zone but sometimes is slightly uphill. Good extension through the ball. Gap to gap power. Generated a 86 mph exit velocity off the tee. At 3B liked how his feet are prepping and moving pre-pitch. Showed good range to both sides, good glove to hand transfer, and showcased a 80 arm velo from 3/4 arm slot. Ran a 4.69 home to first.

Ben Peterson RHP / SS / Broomfield, CO / 2018Rankings State Rank:30 POS:9
Infield Arm Velocity: 80 6-foot-1, 185-pound right hand hitting RHP/SS. At the plate he stands balanced and narrow. He uses a slow load and a long stride on the pitch. Weight drives hard through the zone. Swing path is slightly uphill with good extension after contact. He shows quick hands on the swing and exit velocity is 85 MPH. Swing is simple but the ball jumps off his bat. In the field he shows good instincts and athletic actions. He has soft hands and a quick transfer to his throwing hand. He delivers from a high ¾ arm slot with accuracy. Arm velocity was 80 MPH. On the mound he is mechanically sound, after balance he sinks and drives hard to the plate. Landing is in-line with the plate with good extension out front on the pitch. Arm slot is high ¾ and he does a nice job of keeping his arm speed consistent on all of his pitches. Fastball was 86 MPH with good location down and on the inner half. He also showcased a 73 MPH curve with sharp 11/5 break and finished his showcase with a 74 MPH change with late sink.
