By John Cackowski
State Director

Yesterday we took a look at some teams that are off to good starts this year at the half-way mark of the season. Yesterday we posted Teams on the Rise. Today we focus on some players who are having some stand out performances in 2016. Tomorrow we will post teams that are flying under the radar. We will also post players that are flying under the radar. 2016 RHP/3B Jake Eissler was featured in this week's Hotlist on this Standout Spring Performances. You can read that here

Roy Anderson, OF, Green Mountain (2016)
Anderson is off to a very hot start. He is leading the defending 4A State champions with a .615 batting average. Anderson has 14 RBI's on the season, and 7 doubles. Anderson is a big reason the Rams might have a chance for a 3-Peat.

Quin Cotton, OF, Regis Jesuit (2016)
Cotton is torching pitchers this spring whether they are in Florida, or Colorado. The Grand Canyon commit is hitting .550 and is tied for the 5A lead with 17 runs. Cotton also has 13 RBI's and 3 triples. He also produced one of the top exit velocities at the Prestigious Super 60 event in Illinois at 101 mph.

Matt Erickson, LHP, Fairview (2017)
The left-handed pitcher is making people in Boulder forget about 2015 Oklahoma commit Ryan Madden. Erickson is leading 5A with 43 strikeouts, and has a 4-0 record with a 2.15 ERA in 29 innings pitched.

Wyatt Featherston, OF, Green Mountain (2016)
For four years the Western Kentucky commit has been the offensive force for the Rams.  Featherston is currently hitting .483 and has 5 homeruns and 13 RBI's to go along with 16 runs and 8 stolen bases

Jake Greenwalt, RHP, Windsor (2016)
The Colorado Mesa commit has been showcasing a 90 mph fastball this spring, which has helped him to a 5-0 record and a 0.48 ERA. In 29 innings pitched Greenwalt has 44 strikeouts and has only given up 15 hits.

Travis Marr, RHP/1B, Regis Jesuit (2016)
The Clemson commit is currently tied for the 5A lead in RBI's with 19. He is hitting .467 and has 4 doubles and 3 homeruns. On the mound Marr has a 3-1 record in 20 innings pitched with 22 strikeouts.

Larry Nolasco, LHP, Bruce Randolph
Nolasco has been the one bright spot for the 1 and 6 Grizzlies this year. In 26 innings Nolasco has 60 strikeouts which leads all classifications. Nolasco also has a 1.59 ERA and has only given up 12 hits.

Ryan Overboe, LHP/1B, Legacy (2018)
5-foot-11, 155 pounds. The sophomore is having no problems with 5A pitching. Overboe is leading 5A with a .734 OBA, and is tied for the 5A lead in batting average at .636. Overboe also has been strong on the mound going 2-0 with a 2.06 ERA in 17 innings pitched.

Sam Schroeder, RHP, Fruita Monument (2016)
Schroeder continues to dominate the state of Colorado on the mound. The RHP brings a lower 90's fastball to the table. This year he is 3-0 with a 0.36 ERA and has struck out 36 batters in 19 innings.

Ryan Sullivan, 1B, Cherokee Trail (2016)
Sullivan has been a one man wrecking crew in 2016. Sullivan is currently tied for the 5A lead in batting average at .636. He leads 5A with a 1.090 Slugging average. The Iowa Western commit has been a big reason why the Cougars are back as one of the top teams in 5A.

Wyatt Workman, INF/P, Haxtun (2016)
The 6-foot-3, 225 pound Workman is leading all classifications with 7 homeruns, and 35 RBI's while hitting .432. He has led the Fighting Bulldogs to an 11-4 record in 2A. On the mound Workman is 2-0 with a 2.80 ERA.
