The Hotlist: Standout Spring Performers

Florida is in the playoffs and Wisconsin is barely underway. High school baseball is an interesting dynamic across the country with the different climates, but everyone is playing and there are players to highlight. Listed below are some having good seasons, whether they’re entering the postseason or just getting started.

Dean Alexander, LHP, Thomas Jefferson HS, LA (2016)
Alexander has a strong, athletic frame at 5-foot-11, 170 pounds. He pitches with a short, loose arm action into high-3/4 slot with quick arm speed and regular effort. He sits 82-85 mph with command and late run. His breaking ball shows 2/8 shape and late break at 68-72. He has been dominant on the mound, giving up just 33 hits in 52 innings and striking out 99. He also has a 1.59 ERA.
