Baseball is back here in Colorado. Games got started this weekend and have spilled over into week three of the season. Here is a rundown of action from around the state.
Wednesday March 23rd.
North Broward Prep 7 Rocky Mountain 3 (NHSI Tournament)
The Lobos are taking part in the National High School Invitational in Carry N.C. and drop their first game, but were led by 2017 Spencer Gendreau who was 1-1 with 2 RBI.
Rock Canyon 8 Poly 2
The Jaguars get the out of state win and were led by, No. 7 2018 Nick Merone who was 2-2 with 1 run and 1 RBI and 2016 Trevor Howard who was 2-3 with 2 runs scored.
Green Mountain 12 Grant 5
The Rams stay hot out of state and were led by JD Wadliegh who went 3-4 with 2 runs scored and 4 RBI.
Heritage 4 Knight 0
The Eagles stay perfect on the season and get a lights out pitching performance from 2017 James Kester who went 7 innings with 1 hit and 4 K’s. At the plate No.24 2016 Billy Moreland led the way going 2-3 with 2 RBI.
Highlands Ranch 10 Prairie Grove 9
The Falcons record a win out of state and were led by No. 3 2018 Jordan Medina who was 1-4 with 3 RBI and 2016 Tyler Miller who was 1-2 with 1 run scored and 2 RBI.
Valor Christian 5 Santa Monica 1
The Eagles keep rolling away from Colorado and were led by, 2017 Joel Pierce who was 2-4 with 1 run and 2 RBI.
ThunderRidge 11 Sandy 0
The Grizzlies get a big out of state win and were led by No. 2 2016 Jake Eissler who was 2-3 with 3 runs scored and 3 RBI. On the mound, 2017 Tim McIntyre goes 5 innings allowing 3 hits, 0 runs and striking out 5.
