Highlands Ranch - Continental League play opened on Monday with a good one in which the Legend Titans won a tight, well pitched game 2-1 over the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles in a game that could have League Championship implications.  Kyle Cardona only needed 2 runs for a cushion as he threw a complete game to come away with the win. Cardona allowed 1 run on 3 hits while only walking one.  Legend was lead offensively by Joey Rembisz who doubled in the 5th inning driving in a run and scoring a run.  Rembisz finished the day going 2 for 3.

Jack Liffrig had a strong showing on the mound for Vista.  He also went the distance going 7 innings allowing 2 runs while only 1 was earned.  Jack only allowed 4 hits and only walked 2 on the day.

The game ended on a strange note.  Mountain Vista had the bases loaded with 1 out and score 2-1.  Drew Stahl hit what looked like a sacrifice fly to Jack Baird in leftfield.  Sam Ireland tagged and scored on the play, but legend appealed to third saying Ireland left early.  The home plate umpire called out Ireland and the game ended on the double play.
