By John Cackowski
Director of Scouting
PBR Colorado will be presenting the PBR All-Colorado Team over the course of the next week. Players chosen for the PBR All-Colorado Team are players that not only performed well during the season, helped their team have success on the field, but also were seen in front of the PBR Colorado scouting staff in the form of a past PBR Colorado events or a game. We kicked off the PBR All-Colorado team with the Outfielders ,Catchers, Corners/DH, and middle infielders. Today we finish with the pitchers.
Cole Winn RHP / Silver Creek, CO / 2018Rankings State Rank:1 POS:1 Overall Rank:7 POS:3
Winn, who stands at 6-foot-2, 190 pounds, carried Silver Creek to the 4A final eight this season. Armed with a loose, electric arm that produces a fastball at 92-93, the Mississippi State recruit went 9-1, 1.09 and gave up just 18 hits in 51 innings while striking out 100. He also has a wipeout slider at 76-77 with late depth and a changeup at 80-81.

James Notary RHP / Broomfield, CO / 20176-foot-3, 205 pounds. On the mound stands tall. Long legs, high hips. Arm wraps back, over the top arm slot. Attacks hitters. Armed with a fastball that touches 93 mph, Notary was a nightmare for opposing offenses this year. The Texas Christian commit helped lead Broomfield to the 5A state championship game only to lose to Rocky Mountain. On the year Notary went 7-0 with a 1.33 ERA. In 58 innings Notary struck out 107 and also had 3 shutouts. Notary was drafted in the 35th round by the Colorado Rockies.

Matt Givin 2B / Rock Canyon, CO / 2017Rankings State Rank:1 POS:1 Overall Rank:140 POS:1
6-foot-3, 180 pounds. Givin really jumped on to the scene in 2017. The athletic, wiry pitcher comes from a high 3/4 arm slot. Arm is loose and works well with rest of the body. Brought a low 90's fastball and a wipe out hard curveball that would sit upper 70's to low 80's. The Xavier commit went 5-1 on the season with a 1.48 ERA leading Rock Canyon to the 5A Final 8. In 52 innings Givin struck out 76 batters. Also a starting shortstop, Givin hit .532 with 25 RBI's and 4 homeruns. Givin was PBR Colorado 5A player of the year, and was also the first amateur in Colorado drafted going in the 20th round (#599 overall) to the Miami Marlins

Caleb Sloan RHP / OF / Regis Jesuit, CO / 20176-foot-3, 205 pounds. We choose Sloan as the closer of the PBR All-Colorado team. Armed with a power fastball that touched 97 earlier in the year and 96 on multiple occasions, the Texas Christian commit went 8-2 for the Jesuits throwing 40 innings striking out 57 batters on the season.
