Smith shows outstanding range and arm strength up the middle. He has smooth hands and footwork and shows good instincts. His arm is loose and he can throw from all angles. On the mound, he pitches from a three-quarter slot and sits 82-85 with good command. He has a nasty curveball and his changeup shows upside as well. He has good bat speed at the plate and should grow into his projectable power as he fills out his 5-foot-11, 150-pound frame.
