Q&A with Preseason All-State Participant: Brayden Petroshus

By Jeff Markle
Assistant State Director

As the season rolls on, Prep Baseball Report Colorado will continue to bring you an inside look into several of the players who attended the Preseason All-State event.  Continuing our look is Brayden Petroshus 6-foot-1, 175 pound, 3B/1B, 2016 from Chatfield High School.

PBR:  Describe yourself as a baseball player to those who have never seen you play:

Petroshus:  I am a very competitive individual; I want to win every time I step on the field. While playing the corners I have been told that I field the ball well out in front with smooth athletic actions.

PBR:  What would be your dream school to play baseball at?  If you have already committed to play at the next level, why did you choose that particular school?

Petroshus:  My dream has always been to play division one baseball, as long as the school is the right fit for both as a baseball program as well as a university overall, I don’t have much of a preference about the location or conference.

PBR:  What are your best assets on and off the field at this point in your high school career?

Petroshus:  My best asset on and off the field at this point in my high school career would be my work ethic, I work extremely hard which has brought me success on the field as well as in the classroom as I maintain a 3.75 GPA.

PBR:  What is the best baseball advice you have received and try to follow to this point in your career?

Petroshus:  The best baseball advice I have received and try to follow to this point in my career would be to relax and have fun with the game. Putting unnecessary pressure on yourself is harmful.

PBR:  What are your superstitions or routines that go on during a season?

Petroshus:  I’m not a very superstitious individual, I believe with hard work the success will follow.

PBR:  What are your goals for:

This Season:  My goals for this season would be to win a state championship as well as our league.

Two Years:  My goals two years from now would be to have a role on a college baseball team while working towards earning my degree.

Four Years:  My goals four years from now would be to have a starting role on a college baseball team while working towards earning my degree.
