Paul Tillotson, RHP/OF, Lewis Palmer
Rank: 1 (Overall: 51)
Commitment: Nebraska
Scouting Report: 6-foot-2, 200-pound, right-handed pitcher had the top FB velocity of 91 MPH at the Preseason All-State event.  Displays a smooth tall and fall motion with level shoulders and square athletic landing throwing off two feet and repeats delivery time after time.  Arm is long and loose, lightning quick from an over the top slot.  Easy effort produced fastball from 88-91 MPH with hard run late in the zone.  Command was excellent in the bottom half of the zone.  A 68-72 MPH curve showed 11/5 action and sharp late movement down in the zone.  Split Change was 74-75 MPH with good sink down in the zone.  Tillotson has a live arm and is a very projectable pitcher in the class of 2016.

Jake Eissler, RHP/3B, ThunderRidge
Rank: 2 (Overall: 58)
Commitment: Texas Christian
Scouting Report: 6-foot-2, 210-pound right-handed hitting RHP/3B. Eissler had two impressive outings in the Junior Sunbelt Classic. In his first start against Arizona Eissler went 4 innings only giving up 4 hits leaving the game tied 2-2. Fastball touched 88 mph. In his second start in the tournament on 3 days rest he only went two innings due to the coaches taking care of his arm against Mississippi. In this start Eissler gave up 1 unearned run, but fastball reached 90 on a few occasions. Eissler made the Junior Sunbelt All-Tournament Team. During the tryouts for the team, Eissler registered a 7.21 60 time. At the plate, the right-handed hitter produces solid contact. He uses a smooth load, short stride, and explosive lower half.  90 MPH exit velocity, top 3 at the tryout.  Shows good pull power and good control to the opposite field gap. Not much movement in swing. Lets hands do the work. Did not pitch at the tryout. From third moves towards ball well, fields out in front. Had highest position velocity at the tryout at 93 mph which could be one of the top corner velos in the country. Made the Junior Sunbelt Classic All Tournament Team

Maverick Handley, C, Mullen
Rank: 3 (Overall: 60)
Commitment: Stanford
Scouting Report: Highly physical 2016 prospect, shows advanced strength, 5-foot-10, 190-pound right-handed hitting catcher and middle infielder. Handley was one of the most eye-catching prospects at the event. Hitting from the right side he showed easy explosive bat speed. Posted exit velocity of 90 MPH from the tee. Hit from a balanced stance, lower half worked well, good balance throughout. Advanced bat speed, impressive whip through the zone. Ran a 4.35 home to first.  Defensively showed soft hands behind the plate, highly agile, high flexibility. Arm played at 77 MPH from the crouch, over the top slot, with accuracy and carry. Recorded event best 1.78 pop time. Handley is physically impressive, it is obvious to see he puts in hard work and should progress at a steady pace. The right-handed hitting catcher is a high follow in Colorado and the region.

Quin Cotton, OF, Regis Jesuit
Rank: 5 (Overall: 240)
Commitment: Grand Canyon University
Scouting Report: 5-foot-11, 175 pounds. Bats and throws right. Impressive looking athlete. At the plate has no wasted movement from a balanced athletic stance. Load is smooth and stride is short. Bat speed and lower half are explosive. Has line drive gap to gap power that produced the 2nd fastest exit velocity at the tryout at 91 mph. Shows power potential. In the outfield displays confidence with good actions. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot at 84 mph with good carry. Ran a 6.80 60 time. Was the most athletic looking player at the tryout. High 2016 player to follow in our state.

Preston Snavely, RHP, Fort Collins
Rank: 6 (Overall: 138)
Commitment: Wichita State

Scouting Report:
6-foot-5, 190-pound, right-handed pitcher.  Snavely is more impressive each time we see him. A Very projectable right-handed pitcher for the class of 2016.  Smooth easy effort delivery keeps him square to the plate with a long and loose arm.  Delivered pitches from both an over the top slot as well as a high ¾ slot.  Fastball was 87-88 with one at 90.  Snavely's ball has run and good down angle.  A 70-72 MPH curve had 12/6 rotation with gradual break. Curveball was thrown consistently for strikes. Changeup was thrown at 76-78 MPH change, and was thrown more at same arm speed as fastball since the last time we saw him. Snavely is very projectable, and looks effortless when he throws. Made the Junior Sunbelt Roster

Nate Sweeney, RHP/INF, Cherry Creek
Rank: 9
Commitment: Arizona
Scouting Report:
6-foot-3, 180-pound, right-handed pitcher with a very live arm.  Delivery is square and smooth with strong effort to the plate throwing off two feet. Will fall off to the 1B side a couple of times.  Arm is long and loose and lightning quick.  Throws from an over the top arm slot. We have seen Sweeney throw as high as 91, but today he was focused on taking something off to throw strikes. Struggled early with command but each inning found a way to settle down. Threw 4 innings and was mostly 84-85. At his size shows a ton of projectability.

Tommy Gillman, SS, Columbine
Rank: 10 (Overall: 305)
Commitment: Texas A&M
Scouting Report: 5-foot-10, 170-pound switch-hitting shortstop.  Hits from a wide base with a short stride and simple approach from both side. Left-handed swing is fluid, short to the baseball, with several line drives to the opposite field gap during batting practice. From the right side Gillman has one handed high finish with good extension, hands go right to ball with short stride. Same approach from left but stands taller.  Gillman shows more bat speed from the right side then the left then the right. Was 90 mph exit velo off tee from right, and 82 mph from the left off the tee.   Defensively, threw 83 MPH across the diamond from short, loose, ¾ arm slot with accuracy and more in the tank arm strength wise.  Possesses plus fielding actions for the middle infield, with a good feel for when to use full arm. Good actions.  Hands are soft, quick footwork, ranges well both up the middle and in the hole, solid body control on run through ball.  Ran a flat 7.00 60 time. Gillman is as versatile player there is in Colorado. Was chosen for the Junior Sunbelt Classic Team.

Brice Johnson, LHP, Pine Creek
Rank: 14
Commitment: Creighton
Scouting Report:
6-foot-6, 185-pound left-handed pitcher with room to grow. Every time we see Johnson we like him more. Still a little raw, but projectable LHP with a smooth motion with level shoulder, square landing and athletic finish. Was more in line, and not opening up front knee on landing as much. Gets great extension towards plate.  Arm is long and quick and delivery comes from a high ¾ arm slot.  Easy effort to the plate produced and increased fastball of 85-86 MPH fastball with slight tail and good command of the zone.  Threw a slider this time that sat 75 mph with late tilt.  Change was thrown with FB arm action with good sink down in the zone also at 75 MPH. Again another highly projectable pitcher, especially when looking at frame. Made the Junior Sunbelt Classic Roster.

Austin Wood, RHP, Silver Creek
Rank: 16
Commitment: Furman University
Scouting Report:
6-foot-5, 200-pound, right-handed pitcher, displayed smooth motion, shoulders are slightly uphill then comes through with good arm whip. Athletic landing throwing off two feet and good extension towards the plate.  Arm action is long and loose with quick action through delivery.  An over the top slot produced an 86-88 MPH fastball that struggled to find the zone at times.   Wood’s two other pitches, a 67-70 MPH curve with 12/6 gradual break and a 75-78 MPH change thrown with near FB arm speed found the bottom half of the strike zone routinely.  Wood has some rawness, and still is adjusting coming out of football. Will be throwing in low 90's by summer time. Highly projectable with size and athletic frame.

Jake Greenwalt, RHP, Windsor
Rank: 18
Commitment: University of Northern Colorado
Scouting Report:
6-foot-1, 165 pounds. Bats and throws right. Lanky build and very projectable. One of the best arms at the tryout. Starts slightly closed in stance and throws from a 3/4 arm slot from an uphill delivery. Lands square to plate, throws off two-feet, and falls off towards first base.  Hides ball well, tough to pick up. Fastball was 87-88 mph with one 90. Curveball has good tight spin with late 11/5 tilt at 67 mph. Change up has some sink at 74 mph. Both pitches same arm speed as fastball. At the plate loads back and is short to the ball with uphill swing through zone. Some pull tendencies. Uses leg kick and short stride. Exit velo was 84 mph off the tee. At SS throws from a 3/4 arm slot. Shows good action, closes down and gains ground on throws to first base. Threw 79 mph to first. Ran a 7.21 60 time. Very projectable. Player to follow. First alternate for Junior Sunbelt Classic Team.

Tyson Zanski, C, Grand Junction
Rank: 20
Commitment: St. Cloud University
Scouting Report: 6-foot-2, 200-pound, right-handed hitting C/3B.  At the plate he hits from a tall balanced stance with a high leg kick for timing.  A level swing patch produced several line drives over the course of batting practice.  Good lower leg drive produced an 86 MPH exit velocity off the pitch.  He was best on balls middle in and to the left center gap, but did show good power to the opposite gap at times.  Behind the plate he has quick feet and quick arm that produced throws of 78 MPH.  He was consistently at 2.05 on pop times off the pitcher.  Receiving pitches, he has soft hands and a quite body.  Moves well on balls in the dirt away from him.  He ran a 7.59 60.

Grant Schroeder, RHP, Grandview
Rank: 21
Commitment: Arkansas State
Scouting Report: 6-foot-2, 175-pound two-way player, long thin frame. Hits from an open tall stance, short stride that closes down, lower half, works, good balance throughout. Path is short and level, gap to gap approach. 86 MPH exit velocity from the tee. Defensively uses a short arm action, high ¾ slot, accurate arm, 84 MPH across the diamond. Ran a 4.2 home to first.  On the mound uses tall and fall delivery, works on line, easy effort, high ¾ arm slot. Fastball sat 84-86 MPH, flashed sink. Curve showed short action, 66 MPH. Changeup 71-73 MPH. Secondary pitches thrown with good arm speed.  Made Junior Sunbelt Classic Team.

Cole McKissock, SS, Air Academy
Rank: 25
Commitment: Appalachian State

Scouting Report: 6-foot-1, 180-pound right-handed hitting SS/3B. We love McKissock's skills. Cole hits from a tall slightly open balanced stance, short stride with slight leg kick, and lets hands do the work in the swing which is simple, bottom hand dominant with one hand finish. Has fast bat speed and registered an 89 MPH exit velocity off the tee.  Defensively, threw 83 MPH across the diamond from short, ¾ arm slot with accuracy.  McKissock can play any infield position. Might project as a 3B, but can handle SS, 2B, 3B, and even 1B in a pinch due to skills. Athletic and showed good feet during defensive portion of the event.  Ran a 6.96 60 time. 2016 player to follow. Was first alternate for the Junior Sunbelt Classic Team.

Dalton Lind, RHP, Eaton
Rank: 28
Commitment: Iowa Western
Scouting Report: 6-foot-3, 180-pounds. Lind was nasty at the tryout. A right-handed pitcher, displayed a smooth delivery with level shoulders lands in line off two feet, then falls off to first  Arm was loose from a high ¾ slot with quick actions.  Fastball seemed to be on you in the zone consistently at 87 to 88 mph. Up from 83-85 from last time we saw him in early March. Could get event more extension. Has room to add more weight. Projects as a lower 90's kid.  Knuckle Curve was an eliminating pitch at 74-76 with 10/4 late break.  Lind’s third pitch was a slider at 76-77 MPH. Made the Junior Sunbelt Classic Team

Tanner Johnson, OF/RHP, Chatfield

Has long in-line stride and extension to the plate with good finish. Throws from a short over-top loose arm angle. Hides ball well. Fastball was 78-80 mph with a couple at 81. Change up is very effective at 74 mph with fade and thrown from same arm speed as fastball. Was best changeup at the tryout. Curveball was 12/6 tilt with late break. At the plate has minimal load, and is a line drive hitter gap to gap. No stride, just raises foot, and has a bottom hand dominant swing with very good bat speed that is slightly uphill.
