6-15-15
6-foot-3, 185-pound senior, the No. 16 ranked player for 2016 and recently committed to Arizona. Sweeney impressed in one inning of work, topping out a 91 mph and striking out 2. Delivery is square and smooth with strong effort to the plate throwing off two feet. Will fall off to the 1B side a couple of times.  Arm is long and loose and lightning quick. Sweeney is a potential high draft pick in the 2016 draft if he continues to show he can translate the velocity to strikes.
3-16-15
Currently ranked No. 13 in 2016 class. 6-foot-3, 180-pound, right-handed pitcher with a very live arm.  Delivery is square and smooth with strong effort to the plate throwing off two feet. Will fall off to the 1B side a couple of times.  Arm is long and loose and lightning quick.  Throws from an over the top arm slot. We have seen Sweeney throw as high as 91, but today he was focused on taking something off to throw strikes. Struggled early with command but each inning found a way to settle down. Threw 4 innings and was mostly 84-85. At his size shows a ton of projectability.

3-1-15
6-foot-3, 180-pound, right-handed pitcher with a very live arm.  Delivery is square and smooth with strong effort to the plate throwing off two feet. Did fall off to the 1B side a couple of times.  Arm is long and loose and lightning quick.  Throws from an over the top arm slot and produced an 87-90 MPH fastball with late run.  Pitch could be located in/out and up/down.  Curve ball was 68-71 MPH and showed tight rotation with late 11/5 break.  Change needs better location was 78-79 MPH and left up in the zone.  A 70-71 MPH slider with good late break to a right hand hitter rounds out his pitches. At his size shows a ton of projectability.

1-9-15
6-3, 180 pound RHP/SS. Sweeney is really coming on this fall and winter. On 1/9/15 Sweeney already seemed to be in pitching shape touching 88-90 mph at the Slammers Pitching Showcase  He has jumped in velocity since last summer. Gets good extension to the mound with a high 3/4 arm slot with good leg drive. If he can throw strikes consistently this spring he's going to be a force. Has a good chance to move up in the 2016 rankings.
