Colorado Yard Dawgs Navy 13 5280 Tigers 12

Yesterday, the Colorado Yard Dawgs and the 5280 Tigers squared off in the championship game, and what a game it was.  The Yard Dawgs went off in the first two innings, and after 4 innings were leading the game 10 to 2.  But the Tigers were not going away without a fight and scored 3 runs in the 5th, 4 in the 6th and 1 in the 7th, and shutdown the Yard Dawgs in the bottom of the 7th to send the game into extra innings with the score at 10 to 10.  In the top of the 8th the Tigers scored 2 runs to go up 12 to 10, but here came the Yard Dawgs and 2023 OF Caleb Pepper singled on a 0-2 count, scoring the winning two runs.

2023 Brandon Sanchez was the starting pitcher for the 5280 Tigers, he went three innings, striking out five hitters and walking one. 2023 Elijah Lofton threw four and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen. 2022 RHP Preston Jennings was the winning pitcher for the Yard Dawgs, he gave up three runs on three hits over two and a third innings, striking out four.

For the Yard Dawgs Pepper had a great day at the plate going 3 for 5 with 3 RBI’s, and for 5280 Tigers D. Olsen was 3 for 4 with 3 RBI’s.
