We have started the breakdown of players with the corners and outfielders. Today we continue with the middle infielders. Players are listed in alphabetical order.

Zac Hanenberg, SS/RHP, Canyon City
5-foot-10, 160 pounds. Bats and throws right. Athletic, twitchy kid. Stands tall at the plate and utilizes leg kick stride. Contact hitter to take advantage of speed. Line drives through the infield all weekend. Swing is level through the zone and bat is short to contact. Has some raw tools and skills to work with. Bat speed is there, had a 92 mph exit velo off the tee. From SS showed good range to both sides. 78 mph arm velocity to 3B. Ran an impressive 6.69 60 time. On the mound hides ball well and comes from high 3/4 arm slot. Leaks a little out front, would benefit by staying back to throw off two feet. Strike thrower. Fastball was 77-79 mph, and change sat 64-65. Throws a slider with some late depth at 61-62 mph. Solid tools to work with.

Jett Lopez, SS/C, Horizon
5-foot-10, 160 pounds. Bats and throws right. Wide stance to start, hands back to start. Slightly uphill swing, wants to pull. Has some power to left center. High two hand finish. Has some bat speed.  88 mph exit velocity off tee. Liked his actions all weekend at SS. Showed some advance range. Soft feet, and soft hands. Good glove to hand transfer. Was 75 mph across the diamond, quick release. Ran a 7.12 60 time. Solid tools at position.

Blake Mackintosh, SS/RHP, Cherokee Trail
5-foot-11, 160 pounds. Bats and throws right. Tall, wider base in stance. Bat stays in hitting zone through contact. Bottom hand finish. Showed gap to gap power in live round. Line drive hitter. 85 mph exit velo off the tee. Has a strong arm for SS. Light on his feet, good range, and gains good ground throwing to 1B. Looks natural. Was 85 mph across diamond at this event but we have had as high as 87 mph. On the mound has moxy and composure. Arm slot is short on back side, then comes from high 3/4 arm slot. Pitches primarily from stretch. Fastball sat 82-83, have had at 85 spring games. Good down angle on ball. Curveball lived 67-69 mph with 11/5 shape. Ran a 7.5 60 time.

Zach Paschke, 2B/SS, Mountain Vista
5-foot-8, 145 pounds. Switch hitter, throws right. Was here for first day of event. Stands tall at the plate, leg kick stride. Hands are level to ball, line drive hitter, and good extension through the zone with bottom hand finish. 86 mph exit velo off the tee but bat speed plays faster in live round. Ran a 6.8 60 time. One of the top middle infield prospect in our state.

Casey Wardynski, SS/2B, Regis Jesuit
5-foot-10, 160 pounds. Bats and throws right. Starts with a slight crouch, open stance. Toe-tap stride. Starts with hands slightly wrapped back for load. Slightly uphill swing, gap to gap power. Good extension through the hitting zone. Produced a 80 mph exit velocity. In the field comes through the ball and throws from a 3/4 arm slot. Accurate to 1B at 75 mph. Ran a 7.2 60 time.

Jared White, SS/2B, Ponderosa
5-foot-10, 150 pounds. Bats and throws right. At the plate has an athletic narrow stance. Level swing through zone. Line drive hitter. Posted a 75 mph exit velocity off a tee. In the infield showed solid fundamentals and good range. Accuracy to 1B. Was 75 mph across the diamond from 3/4 arm slot. Ran a 7.7 60 time.
