In the last three years Prep Baseball Report Colorado has had the opportunity to cover amateur baseball like no other organization has ever been able to do before in the state of Colorado. Between scouting numerous games this spring, summer, and fall, and recently having a great opportunity to see more 2020 grads at our premier events such as the Underclass Invitational in January, and Top Prospect Games in August, along with multiple tournaments in summer and fall PBR hosts. These rankings will for sure grow and change before the end of next spring. Our next 2020 rankings will be posted after our Underclass Invitational in January. Our list grows from 40 to 100 players.

Declan Wiesner C / 1B / Valor Christian High School, CO / 2020

Moving into the top spot is Declan Wiesner. 5-foot-11, 190 pounds. Bats and throws right. Physical kid with strong forearms and bat speed. Has leg kick stride, down in time, and has gap to gap power. Bat stays in hitting zone with good extension through the ball. Produced exit velocity of 91 mph and ran 4.03 home to first. Bat speed has a chance to continue developing and is already advanced for his age. Ball jumps off his bat. Behind the dish show same athletic abilities. Has a strong throwing arm, and is an average to above receiver with solid blocking skills.  We have recorded pop-times of 1.90 to 1.95 off pitcher between innings with arm velo at 76 mph.

Lucas Quezada RHP / 1B / Heritage High School, CO / 2020

6-foot, 170 pounds. Bats left, throws right. Closer to 5-foot-10, but everything is super effortless, and he repeats it in an advanced manner given his age. Arm is quick, and he painted his fastball from side to side down in the zone. Fastball sits 85-86, has touched 88 and it looks like he is just flipping it in. Stays linear. Throws a straight changeup with fastball arm speed for strikes and a slurve that took solid shape, but is still developing. Change is 74-75 mph. Curveball comes in at 70-72 with 10/4 shape. Solid prospect.

Jack Moss 1B / C / Cherry creek, CO / 2020

6-foot-3, 175 pounds. Bats left throws right. Lanky, athletic player. Room to fill in the uniform. Moss has come on strong this summer and fall. Last year played football. Name is getting out there now. Strong, uphill path. Leg kick and down and back hand load sync up very nicely as he gets into a strong hitting position. Looks like a natural hitter who will only continue to improve. Good baserunner. Player to follow.

Owen Best C / 1B / Regis Jesuit , CO / 2020

5-foot-10, 185 pounds. Bats left, throws right. Plus left-handed hitting power for a catcher. Open stance with big load. Great position to hitting lane. Explodes on contact Strong lower half and ball jumps off the bat. Produced a 84 mph exit velocity off tee but shows more power live. Behind the plate was strong. 1.98 pop time off coach and threw 74 mph. Threw out 2 runners in one inning at 2B and 3B at Top Prospect Games.

Kaleb Woltz RHP / 1B / Pueblo West, CO / 2020

6-foot-1, 180-pound right hand hitting 3B/RHP who ran a 7.29 60.  At the plate he stands open with a long stride to come square.  Weight transfer is strong on the swing and his path is up-hill.  Hands have quick whip through the zone and good extension out front.  During the live round he hit several balls hard off the left center wall.  Exit Velocity was 88 MPH.  In the field he shows good instincts and anticipation at 3rd. He moves well on the ball to his back hand side and has a quick transfer from his glove to throwing hand.  Arm velocity was 81 MPH with accuracy.  On the mound he is mechanically sound and drives hard to the plate from a good balanced position.  Lower half stays in-line with the plate on delivery with a quick loose arm.  Arm slot is high ¾ and his fastball was 84 MPH with good location away in the zone.  He also showcased a 68 MPG curve with sharp 11/5 break
