The Junior Futures Games got started off for Team Florida 13u with a late inning loss to Team Ohio, 5-2. Ethan Burkhardt earned the start in the opener and was dominant against a talented Ohio lineup. The righty punched out 7 hitters in 3 ⅓ innings and gave up only 2 hits and 1 run. Cameron Mallo also pitched 1+ innings in tonight’s contest.

Offensively for the Florida squad, JaMarques Benton jumped all over a 3-1 pitch in the 2nd sending it to the right center wall for an inside-the-park homer to get the scoring started. McCall Biemiller drove in a run in the 5th with a triple to the left field wall scoring Thomas White. Biemiller impressed and will be one to watch over the weekend. Drew Howard also had a hit and stolen base. Team Florida will be back in action with tomorrow's double-header starting at 8 am against Team Oklahoma, with Team Arkansas scheduled for 10:15 am.
