2014 Player Spotlight: Ronnie Williams - American High School

Ron Di MatteoThis week’s player spotlight is on Ronnie Williams(Florida A & M) from American High School. Williams stands at 6-foot-1 and tips the scales at 180 pounds. He is an athletic right-hander that shows a lot of promise. He possesses a power arm and has topped out at 94 mph, pitching at 91-92. His secondary stuff has shown flashes of potential at times. His curveball has some depth to it, but his changeup is a great complement to his fastball. 

He has good command and impressive demeanor on the mound. He kid has a feel for pitching and his future is bright. Professional baseball could be his next stop as Williams is projected to go between the fourth and seventh round in the draft this week. 

He posted an 8-2 record for the 2014 season. In 65 innings, Williams only gave up 36 hits and struck out 73 hitters. His ERA was an impressive 0.97.
