2016 Player Spotlight: Austin Bergner-West Orange HS
August 26, 2014
2016 Player Spotlight: Austin Bergner – West Orange HS. The 6-foot-4, 190 pound RHP/SS Bergner is one of the top underclassmen in the country and likely already has some big college programs knocking on his door. He jumps out immediately with his long, athletic frame. Everything he does looks easy. He has loose actions in the field and an easy delivery on the mound. At the plate, he has a tall, relaxed set-up, and solid bat speed. On the mound, he sits in the 90-92 range with projectable secondary stuff. He had a big week at the Tournament of Stars, going 4-for-7 at the plate with a double and no strikeouts, while allowing just two hits in three innings.
